About the challenge
Hackarithms is themed around "applying algorithms to real world problems". Participate in a team of up to 5 Australian university students to have fun innovating, learning and meeting new people. Mentors will be available during the event to help teams out, and prizes will be up for grabs!
Get started
Join our club's Discord , you can post in the 'looking-for-a-team' channel under the 'Hackarithms' category to help find your team. Teams are allowed to start brainstorming ideas before the event, but any coding must be started and finished during the hacking period.

This could be in the form of a web application, Python script, mobile application, etc. Only new projects are allowed, they must be developed completely within the timeframe of the event. There is no restriction on what sort of algorithm your team uses.
What to Submit
Teams will be required to submit:
- A link to their public Git repository of their prototype - including a README file on how to run it
- A 3-minute video pitch explaining their idea
Prizes
1st Place
$200 JB Hi-Fi gift card
2nd Place
$100 Harvey Norman gift card
Devpost Achievements
Submitting to this hackathon could earn you:
Judges

Software Engineer @ Visagio
Judging Criteria
-
Idea (45%)
Is an algorithm the main focus of your idea? How original is your idea? Will a significant impact be made on people's lives? How complex is the idea? How realistic is the idea? -
Technical (30%)
Is the technical product sufficiently complex? Has it been built with the target audience in mind? How easy is it for the user to use this? -
Pitch (25%)
Is the video pitch engaging and persuasive? Is the video pitch understandable to a non-technical audience? How creative is the video pitch? Does the video pitch explain the problem being solved and how the chosen algorithm helps to solve it?
